Meet The Team

Nicolas Maurice,
Doctor of Chiropractic

I was born in Mauritius but my family migrated to Australia when I was 13 years old. When I was 12, my mother suffered from a work related injury which led her to be bedridden for months. It was a pretty stressful time of her life and no-one could help her. She visited so many Doctors, consultants and alternative practitioners to no avail. She constantly complained of the pain and felt ill from taking pain-killers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Mauritius may be a tropical paradise but it had one major disadvantage: No Chiropractors.

Later my parents moved the entire family to Sydney. This was physically draining but as soon as we arrived in our new country, my relatives suggested she consult a Chiropractor. At this point, my mother felt that she would try anything (a common story with so many people that we see today). The Chiropractor explained the connection/relationship between her shoulder, arm and the Spine. I remember looking at all the charts on his office wall with total fascination. My mother walked out of his office a different person. The relief was not instant but certainly significant. Her moods improved and her concentration sharpened. Soon the pain left and life flowed back into her. It was amazing to see how the Chiropractor slowly restored her health. This experience changed my life as it showed me what I wanted to do with my life.

I have been a Chiropractor since 1996. I started practice for my mentor 2 weeks after my board exams and never looked back. It has been my thirst for knowledge and adventure that has lead me to be in Northern Ireland. I came to Lisburn for a 2 week locum and stayed for 10 years and counting. I have come across and treated a multitude of people from a few hours old to a 96 year old lady. These patients have provided me with a constant source of inspiration. How amazing and complex our nervous system can be. How fascinating that our body has the ability to self regulate, self heal and maintain a constant state of homeostasis. As a Chiropractor, it is my understanding that despite being seen as practitioners that deal with bad backs, we form a definite part in stimulating, enhancing and influencing the mechanisms that allow the spine and body to function more effectively in a broad range of environmental conditions.

With the recent arrival of my son in 2009 I realize how important a role Chiropractic can play during pregnancy and in the early stages of a newbornÕs life.

My other achievements over the past 10 years in Northern Ireland include taking over the Bangor Chiropractic Clinic and giving it a new lease of life, donating over 2000 toys to the Salvation Army for Lisburn kids and eating 135 oysters in 3 minutes at the Oyster Festival, Hillsborough while raising £3000 for charity.

I am a provider for most private health insurance companies and can be reached on info@lisburnchiro.com.

Linda Wilson
CA Lisburn

I first joined Dr Nick’s team 2 years ago and must admit that at the time had a very limited knowledge of Chiropractic. It was not very long after being there that my husband hurt his lower back. Within days he was back on his feet and feeling great. He recovered so well and even looked better than prior to his injury. This whole experience opened up my mind and changed my outlook on what Chiropractic was all about. My husband not only stopped complaining of a sore back but really seemed to be straighter, stronger and more energetic. I realised that Chiropractic adjustments do influence our Nervous system. Not long after, I decided to send my youngest daughter, Hannah ,to Dr Nick as she was doing all of her GCSE’s. Again, I found that the regular adjustments/treatments gave Hannah an extra edge to this very stressful time in her life. She was calmer, more focussed and looked so much more confident after being adjusted.

I regard Chiropractic as an essential part of my family’s healthy lifestyle and would recommend it to anyone. Our clinic is professionally run and you are sure to understand what brought you in our office so much more.

Kirsty Rodgers
Holistic Therapist

As a Holistic Therapist, my main aim is to help my clients to relax and unwind from the daily stresses of everyday life. We all need a little safe haven to disappear to for some quality “time out” once in a while...and if you are searching for that place, then look no further!

Serendipity and its treatments have been designed with needs of my clients put first- and my aim is to ensure that my clients relax from the moment they step in the door.

In the past I have often said go home and switch off” so that you allow yourself to continually unwind throughout the rest of the day. Now this kind of lifestyle would be bliss, but in reality we have work, relationships, family, home & everyday living to compete with. So, I would like to make your time in Serendipity as relaxing as possible, to allow yourself the opportunity to fully re-charge and pamper yourself-so when you leave, you can switch back into Super Mum or Dad, Business Man or Woman, Glamourous Gran or Domestic Goddess that you are!!!
